We had a pleasant time in this low-budget hotel in Baldock. Countryside location was a plus. Also, it was 15 minutes drive to Gotha Garden at Pembroke Farm. The employees were competent and attentive and kept it all tidy.

We had a good stay in a large double room where the clean and comfy space. The jacuzzi and garden area were perfect for unwinding after a long day. The only small hiccup was that the pillows were a bit too flat for my liking, so make sure to ask for extra if you're a pillow fan like me! 😊

genuinely friendly staff

I had a meal that was unexpectedly good, especially the full English breakfast, not greasy at all but super filling. On top of that, the staff were genuinely friendly, they even called to check if we were on our way because they wanted to ensure we got there by 8pm, it just showed they cared. Kinda nice.

It wasn't cheap but still acceptable given the service.

The atmosphere was charming, a quaint little spot. The staff really seemed to care, checking in to make sure we arrived before their 8pm curfew. You could say they were eager to clock out!

But the room was a bit of a disaster-hairs on the bed and a toenail in the bathroom. I don't fancy bringing my own bedding next time!
